Electronics plant in Győr sees site expansion and development

In the 13 years since it was founded, the MELECS EWS GmbH site in Győr has seen continuous development and expansion. The most recent development has been the fourth such, allowing the company to achieve yet another milestone: Not only has the production area grown by a further 1,800 square meters, but additional equipment and production lines have also been installed. The social and common rooms have been expanded and renovated, the warehousing area and capacity have grown by nearly 30%, the testing lab is now larger, and an energy-efficient and environmentally friendly air conditioning system has been developed.

The starting point for the company’s development and expansion plans were the changes in the electronics industry, the intensification of competition in the market, and the combination of several economic factors. The investment aims to expand the production area and capacity in order to meet current and future customer needs. The expansion of the existing production and warehousing facilities as well as the purchase of machinery came in at a total of HUF 4.315 billion. The company received HUF 863.016 million towards the project under an Individual Government Decision (EKD).

The opening ceremony of the new hall was honored by the presence of Péter Szijjártó, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Balázs Simon Róbert, Member of Parliament, and Dr. András Csaba Dézsi Melecs, the town’s mayor. The new production hall was officially opened with the ceremonial ribbon cutting, after which guests were able to join a tour of the plant and attend a reception.
