Electronics Validation
25 experts in the field of validation, the latest test equipment and a competent network of external partners form the basis of our powerful validation offering. We ensure that the development satisfies both all normative and all customer-specific requirements.
Our service offering is divided into three sub-areas in order to be able to cover all requirements through the targeted use of our experts:
- Environmental Validation
- Electrical Validation
- EMC validation.
ENVIRONMENTAL VALIDATION
Our 480m² test center in Györ allows us to quickly and reliably test products, both in the development phase and in serial production. The test activities are directly integrated into the product development process. Our own test lab (IATF 16949 certified) and the support of our validation engineers in Vienna, our development site, offer a high degree of flexibility. Therefore the implementation of environmental impact tests, such as the following, are possible:
- Temperature and climate tests
- Mechanical tests
- Corrosion tests
- Seal tests
- Other tests
ELECTRICAL VALIDATION
The Electrical Validation team always works hard to ensure the best testing environment possible for our projects. Our test lab at the development site in Vienna is equipped with special test equipment for the execution, parallelization and recording of all relevant tests.
- Overvoltage
- Jumpstart
- Load Dump
- Reset Behavior
- Start Impulses
- Interruptions (connectors, pins)
- Reverse polarity
EMC VALIDATION | ELECTROMAGNETIC COMPATIBILITY
The shielded EMC test chamber at the development site in Vienna is CISPR-25 compliant. It is run by a team of experienced experts and offers fast and meaningful measurement results during the product development process. We have also developed numerous partnerships and have built a wide network in order to fulfill in advance and in an accredited lab, the following requirements for the final EMC approval test.
- Emission measurements pursuant to CISPR25
- Immunity test pursuant to ISO standards
- ESD tests
- Root cause analysis of tolerance deviations
- Specialist consulting for EMC-appropriate layout and device design
- Numerous partnerships with accredited test centers
Some validation challenges
- Coordination of the validation schedule for 16 different modules from 3 continents (Europe, Asia, America) and their production sites
- 50 samples per module variant, corresponding to some 800 samples for validation.
- To overcome the sheer number of validation samples, a new test environment was developed in parallel to the product development that simplifies communication and data recording.
- The development of the new test environment included both the design of the new driver cards and the associated firm/software.
- Despite the international supply chain bottlenecks in the electronics industry, we were able to acquire over 900 cable sets on schedule.
- During validation, new control mechanisms were developed to identify possible deviations on time.
- During the final visual inspection, several thousand camera and microscope images as well as a large number of micro-sections were coordinated.
Quality Assurance
The development processes at Melecs are based on the V model, inspired by ASPICE. We distinguish between three different quality levels: product quality, quality of the work results and process quality.
