10 Years of Melecs Wuxi: A Decade of Global Success and Strategic Independence

Austria’s largest electronics manufacturer is celebrating the 10th anniversary of its Chinese facility as a cornerstone of its global competitiveness.

On June 5, 2026, the Austrian electronics service provider Melecs celebrated the 10th anniversary of its electronics manufacturing facility in Huishan District, Wuxi, China. What began in 2014 as a greenfield project and became operational in the second quarter of 2016 has now developed into a key, largely independent pillar of the entire Melecs Group. In addition to the local workforce, the celebrations were attended by the Group’s executive management, led by CEO Bernhard Pulferer, as well as high-ranking guests such as the Deputy Austrian Commercial Consul in Shanghai, Magdalena Junez.

The Wuxi location plays a central strategic role for the Melecs Group. The plant not only ensures direct access to the dynamic local Chinese market but is also increasingly serving as an internal benchmark within the Group in the areas of supply chain management, equipment productivity (OEE), and quality cost management. Through the targeted expansion of local product development and sourcing capabilities, the site plays a key role in securing the global competitiveness of the entire Austrian company. “Wuxi has proven that we can operate as an international supplier with a global footprint. Today, the plant stands on its own two feet, both economically and technologically, and now also supports other Melecs locations worldwide with its expertise,” emphasized CEO Bernhard Pulferer during the anniversary celebration. Despite global geopolitical and trade policy challenges, Melecs looks to the future with optimism and continues to focus on innovation, in-depth engineering expertise, and sustainable growth in China.
